    WORKING HOURS: 24 hours.

    APPROACH: Main approach via Fairway Buoy. Entrance is by straight channel 2.7 km long - Landmarks: Smokestacks, Florida Power & Light Company.

    HAZARDS: None.

    TRANSPORTATION: Inland transportation is by road.

    Fort Lauderdale International Airport is 1 km from the sea port.

    IMPORTS AND EXPORTS: Imports: Petroleum, cement, steel bars, fruit and vegetables - Exports: General containerized cargo, grocery products.

    WEATHER: Good - Tidal range is 0.76-0.92 meters.

    ANCHORAGE: Under pilot's direction N and NE of sea buoy in depths of 22-25 meters.

    PILOTAGE: Compulsory for all vessels engaged in foreign trade. Pilot boards at the sea buoy.

    TOWAGE: Five harbor tugs available from Hvide Marine.

    Cruise: Ten berths and 10 terminals available. One terminal is within walking distance of the shopping area - Ro-ro: Six berths available.

    Shiprepair: Over 20 specialized firms offer various types of engine, electrical and other types of repair.

    NEW FACILITIES: 174 acres are being developed for both container and warehouse operations.

    MEDICAL AID: There is a hospital 2 km from the port.
