    TRANSPORTATION: Inland transportation is by truck only.

    Airport: Mercedita Airport is 15 minutes from the sea port.

    IMPORTS AND EXPORTS: Imports: Coal, gypsum, lumber, general goods in containers - Exports: Waste paper, scrap metal, general cargo, aggregates.

    WEATHER: Winds: 10-15 knot winds - Tides: Tidal variation is 0.5 to 1 foot.

    ANCHORAGE: Coffin Island 17° 54' 30" N - 66° 36 '37" W

    PILOTAGE: Pilot boards at the Pilot Station Channel - Pilot charges are calculated on the basis of US$8.75 per foot draft with a minimum of 15 feet.

    Cruise: One berth and passenger terminal for 700 passengers.

    Container: Port handles around 60,000 TEUs a year.

    Tankers and LPG carriers: None. - Bulk: Coal terminal of 10,398 cubic meters.

    Total berthing capacity: 1,069 feet.

    NEW FACILITIES: None planned.

    PRIVATE WHARFS: None.

    MEDICAL AID: Two hospitals, both 15 minutes from the port.

    ENVIRONMENT: Same regulations as for all mainland US ports.
