    WORKING HOURS: Mon-Thurs: 07.30-12.00; 13.30-17.00 - Fri: 07.30-12.00; 13.30-16.30 (administration), 24 hours a day for loading and unloading.

    Port administration is closed on public holidays.

    APPROACH: Willemstad Harbour is approached via St Anna Bay. The main approach is 110-150 ft wide with a depth of 45 feet - Landmark: Leading Line 021°.

    HAZARDS: None.

    TRANSPORTATION: Inland transportation is by road.

    Airport: Curacao International Airport at Hato is 13 km from the sea port.

    IMPORTS AND EXPORTS: Imports: Consumer goods, grains, rice, lumber and construction materials - Exports: Construction materials.

    WEATHER: Winds: ENE to ESE winds at 11-16 knots average - Tides: 0.4 meter.

    ANCHORAGE: Available in SW part of the harbour. There is also a dolphin with a mooring buoy on each side. Depth is 12.19 meters. Distance between each buoy and the dolphin is 348 meters.

    PILOTAGE: Vessels should stay one nautical mile offshore SW of the harbour to await pilot. On arrival at the pilot station, vessels should report to Fort Nassau Control Center on VHF Channel 16 - Pilot charges: Calculated on the basis of tonnage and length.

    Ore and bulk cargo: Discharged by clamshell grabber via hopper to truck, or loaded via conveyor belt to hold.

    PROVISIONS: Ship suppliers available.

    WATER: Pipeline and barges deliver fresh water for drinking and other uses. Water is supplied by hose at approx. 75-110 tonnes per hour.

    FACILITIES: Maximum draft alongside: 45 feet.

    Longest vessel: Not known.

    Cruise: Terminal is within walking distance of shopping area.

    Breakbulk: Three quays of 300 meters.

    Container: Total quay length of 500 meters with three berths: one

    ro-ro, one lo-lo and one ro-ro/lo-lo.

    Ro-ro: Each of 25 meters in length and 12.1 meters depth.

    NEW FACILITIES: A new T-shaped jetty at the southwest of the entrance to St Anna Bay. This Mega Pier can accommodate cruise ships up to 145,000 grt or as a bunker call only for other vessels. New cruise terminal due to be inaugurated at end of 1999.

    PRIVATE WHARFS: None.

    MEDICAL AID: St Elisabeth Hospital is 2 km from the port.

    ENVIRONMENT: Marpol, Solas, Collision Regulations, Load Lines, Standards of Training Certification and Watch-keeping, Tonnage. An oil emergency contingency plan is in place.
