    Closed: Independence Day (1 Jan), Hero's Day (2 Jan), Labor Day (1 May), Flag Day (18 May), Ascension Day, Assumption (15 Aug), All Saints (1 Nov), Commemoration Day (18 Nov), Discovery of Haiti (5 Dec), Christmas Day (25 Dec).

    APPROACH: The main approach, indicated by Buoy 1, is two miles long with a depth of 30 meters - Landmark: Picolet Pointe.

    HAZARDS: No sand bars - Mardi-Gras reefs - Shallow water marked by Buoys 4-6

    TRANSPORTATION: Inland transportation is by road or via cabotage.

    Cap Haitien International Airport is 4 km from the sea port.

    IMPORTS AND EXPORTS: Imports: Rice, beans, flour, sugar, cement, corn and cooking oil - Exports: Coffee, orange peel, cocoa.

    WEATHER: Easterly winds from Oct-Mar and W/SW winds from Mar-Sept. Hurricane season. Tidal range of 1 to 3 feet from Oct-Mar.

    ANCHORAGE: Buoy No 1 depth 30 meters - Buoy No 9 depth 18 meters - Buoy No 11 depth 16 meters - Buoy No 13 depth 15 meters.

    PILOTAGE: Pilot boards at the sea buoys - Pilotage charges are calculated from vessel draft and for each movement in and out of the port.

    PROVISIONS: There is a supermarket near the port.

    WATER: Water tanker with 800 cubic metres capacity available at quay.

    FACILITIES: Maximum draft alongside: 10.5 meters.

    Cruise ships: One berth of 176 metres length with 10.5 metres depth alongside. Breakbulk/container: One berth - Ro-ro: One berth with a breadth of 30 meters. Tankers and LPG carriers: No berths.

    Bulk: One berth of 250 meters length with 9.5 meters depth alongside.

    NEW FACILITIES: None planned.

    PRIVATE WHARFS: None.

    MEDICAL AID: Hospital is less than 1.5 km from the port.
