    WORKING HOURS: Mon-Fri: 08.30-16.30 - Sat: 09.00-12.30 - Sun: Closed.

    APPROACH: The main approach, the Sir Francis Drake Channel, is 2.75 miles long and 2.5 miles wide with a depth of 10 meters. - Landmarks: Oil tanks, radio tower.

    HAZARDS: Sand bars, reefs and shallow water on both sides of marked channel.

    TRANSPORTATION: Inland transportation is by truck.

    Beef Island Airport is 14.5 km from the sea port.

    IMPORTS AND EXPORTS:

    Imports: Breakbulk, containers - Exports: None.

    WEATHER: Prevailing wind is ESE, 5-15 knots - Negligible tides.

    ANCHORAGE: There are anchorage points at 18° 25' N, 64° 36' 24" W (7 fathoms) and 18° 24' 30" N, 64° 35' 48" W (12 fathoms).

    PILOTAGE: For ships entering from the east, pilot embarks one mile south of Buck Island. For ships entering from the south, pilot boards two miles south of Hog Valley Point. Pilot charges are calculated on a per foot of draft basis.

    TOWAGE: None.

    TRAFFIC: Average vessel calls per year:

    Cargo handled per year: Less than 200,000 tonnes.

    EQUIPMENT: Four fork-lift trucks, each of 3 tonnes capacity.

    STORAGE: Open storage: available - Covered storage: One warehouse of 1,487.3 square meters and one of 11,088 square metres.

    Air draft: No restrictions - Refrigeration capacity: None.

    BUNKERS: Supplied by tank barge and road tanker.

    WATER: Fresh water is available from the cruise terminal and Port Purcell and is priced at US$25 per 1,000 US gallons plus 10 per cent service charge.

    FACILITIES: Maximum draft alongside: 6.75 meters. - Longest vessel: 195 meters LOA.

    Cruise pier can berth two large cruise ships simultaneously. There are multiple anchorages throughout the BVI - The cargo dock at Port Purcell has adequate space for landing breakbulk and containerized cargo. A CFS enables the port to handle unitized cargo efficiently.
