    APPROACH: Access channel is 91 meters wide and has a turning basin of 365 meters and a depth of 10.76 meters.

    HAZARDS: None notified.

    TRANSPORTATION: Inland transportation is by truck.

    V.C. Bird International Airport is 7 km from the port.

    PRINCIPAL IMPORTS AND EXPORTS: Imports: Oil, chemicals, manufactured goods, machinery and transport equipment - Exports: Petroleum products, manufactured goods, food and live animals, machinery and transport equipment.

    ANCHORAGE: Located about 0.7 nautical miles NNW of Pillar Rock Light with depths to 13.72 meters. There is a further anchorage area two nautical miles north of Sandy Island with depths to 16.46 meters.

    PILOTAGE: Compulsory. Pilot boards at the channel entrance when vessel is proceeding to the deepwater berth. Otherwise at two nautical miles off Sandy Island when using the Sea Island berth.

    TOWAGE: Antigua Port Authority has two tugs.

    TRAFFIC: Cargo handled per year: 2-300,000 tonnes.

    Cargo handled per day: 1-2,000 tonnes.

    Ro-ro: Available at Deep Water Harbour.
