    2009, October 19: The General Council of the Caribbean Shipping Association has four new members for the 2009 – 2010 term of office.

    Group A, the shipping agents and stevedores, elected Michael Bernard chairman. He leads a team of new faces to General Council, all presidents of their national Associations. They are Rhett Chee Ping, President of the Shipping Association of Trinidad and Tobago; Roger Hinds, President of the Shipping Association of Jamaica; and, Glyne St. Hill, President of the Shipping Association of Barbados.

    David Jean-Marie of the Barbados port was elected chair of Group B. He and newcomer Linda Profijt of Suriname will represent the ports and terminals at General Council.

    Cyril Seyjagat takes the chair in Group C and, with David Ross, will address issues of concern to shipping lines and ship operators.

    The General Council is chaired by new CSA President, Carlos Urriola and Vice President, Grantley Stephenson and supported by Immediate Past President, Fernando Rivera and CSA General Manager Clive Forbes.
