St. Hill re-elected President
... unveils new website
2009,
June 18: The Shipping Association of Barbados (SAB) has developed and
activated a website. The new facility, www.shippingbarbados.com was ‘presented’
to members at the Association’s recent Annual General Meeting.
The
website will serve members of the Association and provide a point of initial
contact for persons wishing to do business with the shipping industry in
Barbados.
The
members of the Association attending the 28th Annual General Meeting (on June
11) in the SAB conference room in Bridgetown returned Glyne St. Hill as
President for a second consecutive term. They also re-elected Marc Sampson Vice
President.

EMPHASIS ON TRAINING
The SAB
membership agreed to continue the Association's emphasis on Training. To
this end, a slate of seminars and training activities have been planned
for Ships' Agents and their staff. Topics to be presented during the current year
include operations, documentation, sales, container monitoring, IMDG Codes; and
financial accounting. This series of training activities is being planned in conjunction
with the Caribbean Maritime Institute.
Members
were put on alert that the Shipping Association of Barbados (SAB) and Barbados
Port Inc. (BPI) will be co-hosting the CSA's 41st Annual General Meeting in the
year 2011.
