The new president of the SAJ, in accepting the

current challenging economic times. "We have to look at the economy and try to
forge a new direction for the Association and build on the excellent foundation
laid by past presidents and members of the Managing Committee of the SAJ," Hinds
said. He gave the commitment that he and his team would work with the
Government to realize the vision of making Jamaica a new logistics and
distribution hub.
In his last address to the membership as
President, Bernard, thanked the SAJ for the opportunity to serve the Association
over three years. He described the Managing Committee as a dedicated group of
business people who have put the interests of the shipping industry above those
of their respective businesses and who continue to provide leadership at a time
when the industry is critically poised.
"I turn over to my successor, the helm of an
organization that is well managed, well structured and prepared for the
challenges ahead," Bernard said, pledging his support to the new president.
