    2008, August 30: Seaboard Marine Limited, an international shipping company headquartered in Miami, Florida, announced the appointment of Stephen Bell as Regional Vice-president, Caribbean Division.

     

    Stephen Bell joins the Seaboard team with more than 20 years experience in the shipping industry and having just completed a stint of five years as General manager of the Caribbean Shipping Association.

     

    Professional assignments

    He has distinguished himself through a number of professional assignments including working in Seaboard Marine's Miami office in the early 1990s where he held the posts of pricing manager and later as transshipment manager.

     

    Having moved back to Jamaica in 1993, he has worked as a line manager at Jamaica Freight and Shipping with responsibility for Jamaica Producers Shipping and manager of Inter-seas Limited, which represented the shipping lines of Dole Fruit Company and FMG, among others.

     

    Stephen Bell went on to be the president of LSK and Company Limited, representing companies from the United States of America, Europe and the Far East.

     

    In his most recent post as General Manager of the Caribbean Shipping Association, he has worked extensively with various private and public sector interests in furthering the development of the regional maritime industry.  Bell sits on the board of directors of Marine and Allied Credit Union and is a trustee with the Caribbean Maritime Institute and the Kingston Port Workers Superannuation fund.

     

    He is an avid sports enthusiast and is married with two daughters.
