    2007, October 30: Fernando Rivera of Puerto Rico (left) was unanimously returned as President of the Caribbean Shipping Association in elections at its recent 37th Annual General Meeting.

    Carlos Urriola of Panama (right) was similarly returned as Vice President.

    Both men are now serving their second consecutive terms in leading the Regional organization.

    Francis Camacho is the only new face on the Caribbean Shipping Association’s General Council, elected for the period 2007 – 2008.

    Mr. Camacho, a native of Guyana, was elected as Group A representative at the 37th Annual General Meeting, held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, October 15, 16 and 17. This is the first time he will serve on the General Council. He replaces Trevor Phillip of Saint Lucia.

    Group A is chaired by Robert Foster who was elected to serve his second consecutive year leading the largest of the three CSA constituent groups – the Ship Agents and Private Stevedores. Also re-elected to represent Group A on the 2007 – 2008 General Council are Michael Bernard of Jamaica and IanDeosaran of Trinidad and Tonago, both being returned for a second consecutive year.

    Group B, the port and terminal operators group, is again chaired by Grantley Stephenson of Jamaica and David Jean-Marie of Barbados was also returned as Representative.

    Group C, the ship owners and vessel operators group, comprises Capt. Johan Bjorksten, chair; and, Cyril Seyjagat, both also re-elected.

    Immediate Past President is Corah Ann Robertson-Sylvester.
