April 10: The Shipping Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SATT) elected
Haydn Jones to lead the Association for the term 2007-2008. He was elected
at the Association’s 69th Annual General Meeting which took place on March 28,
2007. He succeeds Stewart Sankar.
The Executive Council for the 2007-2008 term is:
Mr. Jones and Mr. Sankar; Rhett Chee Ping, Vice President; Group A:
Terrance Prayag, Chairman ; Darwayne Belcon, Vice Chairman; and Richard
Jiminez. Group B: Graeme Percival, Chairman; Colin Young, Vice
Chairman. Group C: Paul Taylor, Chairman; Michael Laughlin, Vice Chairman;
and, Ian Deosaran and Hayden Hill, Trustees.
Mr. Jones is employed with the National Gas
Company of Trinidad and Tobago (NGC) and has been for the past eleven years. He
holds the position of Marine Superintendent, Terminal Operations at one of NGC’s
subsidiary companies - National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago
Limited (NEC). He is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the six
NEC owned petrochemical terminals at Point Lisas as well as the management and
operation of the LABIDCO port at La Brea.
All of Trinidad and Tobago’s ammonia, methanol,
urea and direct reduced iron (DRI) products are exported from the NEC’s Point
Lisas terminals.
