2006, June 12: The Dubai-based Emirates
Shipping Line has announced its Asia Gulf Express (AGX) service which, subject
to FMC approval, was scheduled to begin on June 21 from Shanghai.
This service links Asia to the USA and the
Caribbean.
Emirates Shipping Line is working with Shipping
Corporation of India and MacAndrews in providing the AGX service.
The port rotation is: Shanghai, Ningbo, Busan,
Colon (Panama), Kingston (Jamaica), Tampa (USA), Mobile (USA), Houston (USA),
Kingston, Shanghai.
Emirates Shipping Line will provide two out the
seven 3,000 TEU ships being deployed by the partners.
“We are pleased to announce the launch of a
service that will provide direct connections for our customers linking East Asia
to the major commercial and trading hubs in the US Gulf ports,” said Vikas Khan,
CEO of Emirates Shipping Line.
