  • Dear Participants

    Dear Participants,

On behalf of the General Council of the Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA), I extend sincere appreciation to you for your participation in our Caribbean Shipping Executives Conference (CSEC), held at the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort, 2006 May 22-24.  Very special thanks to our hosts, Curacao Ports Authority and Curacao Port Services Inc, N.V., for their welcome and wonderful hospitality.

Those of you who could not get on the flights to Curacao, including some of our General Council members, you were missed.

The success of our Conference was as a direct result of your participation and involvement.  There were excellent presentations from all our Guest Speakers and as far as it is feasible, presentation papers will be forwarded later.

The "Caribbean Beach Party" was a hit.  I think all who attended and participated in the "casual white" theme had a truly memorable time.

We appreciated the innovation of a daily newsletter, ‘CSEC-SCENES’ which highlighted Conference topics and featured colour photographs of the previous day's events.

I use this opportunity to encourage all Caribbean Ports to enter the CSA’s Container Terminal of the Year and Multi-Purpose Terminal of the Year Competition. More information will be available in the coming months.

Our next meeting will be the 36th Annual General Meeting, Conference and Exhibition, at the Caesar Park Panama Convention Hotel, 2006 October 16, 17 and 18.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Again, thank you for participating and we look forward to your continued interest and support.  We welcome your comments and suggestions and urge you to contact us at csa@cwjamaica.com or visit our website at www.caribbeanshipping.org for the latest news and information about the shipping industry in the region. If you would like to speak to me personally, I am always available.

Colleagues, let us continue to work together as an organization for the benefit of regional shipping and for the development of the peoples of the Caribbean.

    Warmest regards,

    Corah Ann Robertson-Sylvester (Mrs)

    President, Caribbean Shipping Association

     ... says Raul A. Vignier

    Dear Corah Ann,

To me personally it has always been a pleasure to attend to these meetings on behalf of Taylor International; it has also been very helpful for our business because you can enjoy the gatherings and the meetings with other members and learn about new business development and potential business opportunities that otherwise would require several trips to the Region to gather.

All these facts contribute to make the attendance to CSA conventions a wonderful opportunity to combine business with a real good time.

I must also congratulate you for the impeccable attention given to the organization of these Conventions and the good taste and professionalism that you and your team devote to your guests and personalities attending to the Convention.

    Thank you,

    Raul A. Vignier
