      I

Monica's zest for life and living knew no bounds.  I feel the loss of a very close friend and associate.  Her passing brings back memories of my work with her as a member of the Shipping Association of Jamaica and in the wider field of Caribbean Shipping.  She will be surely missed, not only because of her fantastic personality but more so because of her ability to get things done properly and expeditiously the first time around.

    G. Ainsley Morris, Past President Caribbean Shipping Association

Words cannot express the shock, sadness and deep sense of loss that we at the Shipping Association of Barbados are experiencing at the devastating news of Monica's passing.   Our relationship with Monica spanned several decades. We all came to know,  respect and love her over the years.  Monica was the heartbeat of the CSA, who knew everyone and everything and always had that special word or joke whenever she came into contact with the members.  As an icon of the CSA she is irreplaceable and will always live on in our memories.  On behalf of the Members and Secretariat of the Shipping Association of Barbados and on my own behalf, I convey our heartfelt condolences to the CSA and to Monica's family.

Philip Edwards, President, Shipping Association of Barbados

We are very shocked and saddened to learn of Monica's passing on.  All of us at Alstons Shipping ask that you do convey our deepest condolences to Monica's family and friends.

Cedric Stone & Harrichanda Singh, Alstons Shipping, Trinidad

It is with great shock and sadness to learn the sudden passing of a special colleague and friend, Monica. 56 years is quite young, then again, they say the Good Lord takes angels, and that the good die young. I wish to extend my deepest sympathy and condolences to Monica’s family and pray that the almighty Lord will give them the strength and courage to accept the loss of this dear and special Gem who impacted so immensely on our lives during her journey.

     Trevor Chan Pak, SEABOARD TRINIDAD

It is with deep sadness that I received the news of Monicas passing. On behalf of the Board, Staff and Students of the Caribbean Maritime Institute sends condolence to her family and the CSA.  Monica will be missed especially from the DISL Steering Committee of which she was a dynamic and supportive member representing the CSA.  May the Lord God grant her His peace and be a comfort with her Family in this time of bereavement.

LCdr. Michael Rodriguez, Executive Director, Caribbean Maritime Institute
